From 28 May to 6 June will be celebrated the thirteenth edition of LOOP Barcelona, the meeting point and highlight in the international art agenda for new trends in video art and moving image practices.

What about collecting video art? and Beyond the Image: Sound will be the two guiding themes chosen this year to define the programme and open a space for reflection and debate.

With its three sections, LOOP Barcelona will introduce video proposals throughout the city, converting itself in the driving force of the video art market and the main promoter of developments in the community working with this medium:

LOOP Festival will take place from 28 May to 6 June, presenting hundreds of works by video artists of various nationalities, spread out in more than 100 spaces all over the city: from museums, art centers, galleries to bookstores, shops and libraries.

LOOP Fair will take place from 4 to 6 June, bringing together over 40 galleries in the rooms of the Catalonia Ramblas Hotel to present more than 40 video creations, in solo shows, many of which will be world premieres.

Running in parallel to the fair, LOOP Studies will take place from 4 to 6 June concentrating an intensive programme around the themes of this edition, What about collecting video art? and Beyond the Image: Sound which will include panel discussions, round tables and case studies with some of the most prominent professionals of the sector.

De Tapes per Barcelona, edition 2015

Until May 17 the new edition of De Tapes per Barcelona, successful gastronomic route.

This 2015 edition of the event is held with the participation of 68 bars and restaurants spread throughout the city.

The selection of De Tapes per Barcelona, in practice, consists of a tapa designed especially for the occasion accompanied by beer or wine for just 2.5 euro.

Naturally establishments participating in the initiative are for the most part in the most emblematic places of the city such as Raval, Eixample Esquerra, Sants-Montjuïc-Les Corts and Sarria-Sant Gervasi.

Also this year, also Gastronosfera has set in motion a contest through which you can win a dinner for two in a restaurant awarded with Michelin stars.

Free concerts "Martini Vermouth Jazz" at L'Auditori

With the arrival of good weather, the exterior part Auditori come and offer free good music: it is the cycle of concerts called "Martini Vermouth Jazz", which takes place every Sunday at 12:45, until 21 of June. The cycle was opened last Sunday, May 3, with the show of Mataró Rumba All Stars, who honored Peret, Gato Pérez and gave the audience a version style of rumba “Paraules d’amor” of Serrat.

After the huge success of last year, the Martini Vermouth Jazz has chosen to expand its programming to eight Sundays. All concerts, remember, are free and take place in a scenario installed outside the Auditori surrounded by tables to enjoy the best of jazz music and your aperitif.

From 5 to 14 June 2015, sixty hotels in Barcelona will open their terraces to the public on the occasion of the new edition of "A vista d’hotel".

“A Vista d’Hotel” is a unique experience that allows you to enjoy free performances of music, wine tastings, culinary workshops, fashion shows and more with spectacular views of Barcelona.

The initiative, created by the will of the Gremi d'Hotels de Barcelona to bring citizens closer to the hotels of the city, is now in its fifth edition this year and provides in particular for more than 250 free activities.

The twin fountains of Plaça de Catalunya have opened their show of light and movement of water after a total restoration that has improved energy efficiency with important environmental benefits.

The Fonts Bessones have begun to work giving rise to their performances: one of the novelties is that the music of the show does not feel the outside but is available through an app that allows citizens to see the show and listen to live music through the Mobile phone.

After more than 50 years during which they had never been renovated, the fountains of Plaça de Catalunya, as we said, have been subjected to a complete restoration which now allows admire them in their renewed splendor.

In particular there are two times to see the fountains of Plaça Catalunya in action;

- During the spring and summer the shows are held
from Thursday to Sunday, from 21:00 to midnight, every 30 minutes.

- In autumn and winter,  the shows will be held from 19:00 to 23:00, also every half hour.
